Allan Legere
The Monster of Miramichi.
Case Synopsis
Allan Legere, known as the "Monster of the Miramichi," is one of Canada’s most notorious serial killers. Initially imprisoned for a brutal 1986 murder in New Brunswick, he escaped custody in 1989 and launched a months-long reign of terror across the Miramichi region. During his time on the run, Legere committed four additional murders, targeting mostly elderly victims with extreme violence, along with acts of arson and sexual assault. His capture later that year led to one of Canada's first convictions based heavily on DNA evidence. Legere was sentenced to life with no chance of parole.
