Byron Carr, a 36-year-old teacher and respected community member, was found strangled and stabbed in his home following a night out. The crime scene featured an ominous message declaring “I WILL KILL AGAIN.” For 35 years the case remained unsolved, haunting his family and the LGBTQ+ community on Prince Edward Island. In January 2024 investigators announced the arrest of Todd Joseph Gallant based on DNA and genetic genealogy evidence, offering hope of justice after decades of silence.
