Synopsis

In July 2019, a string of violent killings in northern British Columbia shocked Canada and drew international attention. Three people were found murdered along remote highways: Australian tourist Lucas Fowler, 23, his American girlfriend Chynna Deese, 24, and Vancouver botanist Leonard Dyck, 64. The suspects, teenage fugitives Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, led police on a nationwide manhunt spanning thousands of kilometres before their bodies were discovered in Manitoba, dead by apparent suicide. The murders raised troubling questions about motive, rural safety, and how two young men from small-town B.C. spiraled into violence.
