Jodi Henrickson

Finding Jodi.

In the early morning hours of June 20, 2009, 17‑year‑old Jodi Henrickson, on Bowen Island, left a house party with her ex‑boyfriend Gavin Arnott. They reportedly walked together along Miller’s Landing Road before parting ways after an argument—and Jodi was never seen again. Despite years of investigation by the RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), her body has never been found, and no charges have ever been laid. Her disappearance remains officially a missing person case, with foul play strongly suspected. Gavin Arnott was treated as a person of interest given his history of violence toward Jodi and a court‑ordered no‑contact order, but investigators found no definitive evidence tying him to her disappearance. In recent years, renewed attention from a documentary project called Finding Jodi, along with a two-part podcast episode, spurred a fresh search when the film crew alerted IHIT to possible evidence found on Bowen Island. IHIT then conducted a follow-up on the flagged area, though no new findings have been publicly released. Despite the uncertainty, those who knew Jodi describe her as bright and warm‑hearted. Her family continues to hold onto hope that someone will eventually come forward with information that brings clarity—and possibly closure—to her unexplained disappearance.
