Synopsis
Mekayla Margaret Kim Bali was a 16‑year‑old from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, who vanished on April 12, 2016. Known as a kind, shy, and caring high‑school junior who loved violin and drama, she showed no signs of risky behavior prior to her disappearance. On the day she vanished, surveillance footage captured her moving through her town—visiting her school, attempting to pawn a ring, withdrawing a small amount of cash at a bank, spending several hours at a Tim Hortons/Wendy’s, and later asking about a bus to Regina before being last seen at the Trail Stop bus depot between about 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Despite extensive investigation, including RCMP child search alerts, a $100,000 CAD reward, and ongoing public appeals, no definitive leads have emerged and Mekayla remains missing and her fate unknown.
