Mike Todor

Everything but the truth.

In the spring of 1955 the decomposed body of 74-year-old Mike Todor was discovered in his Regina bungalow, having lain undiscovered for more than fourteen months. His skull had been repeatedly crushed, his home locked and smelling of decay, and neighbors unaware of his fate for over a year. Questions surrounded his housekeeper and common-law partner Elizabeth “Tootsie” LaFleche and boarder Jacob Dyck, both implicated by shifting testimonies and confusion. Dyck was tried multiple times but never convicted, while Tootsie served time as an accessory. The case remains officially unsolved, a mystery of betrayal, decomposition and lost justice in mid-century Saskatchewan.
