Terry Driver, known as the "Abbotsford Killer," was responsible for attack on two teenage girls in Abbotsford, British Columbia, which left Tanya Smith dead and her friend Misty Cockerill severely injured. Following the crime, Driver taunted police and the public with anonymous calls and threats, even placing Smith’s stolen headstone outside a radio station. His voice was eventually recognized by his family after recordings were released, leading to his arrest. He was convicted in 1997 of first-degree murder and attempted murder, and later declared a dangerous offender. Driver died in prison in 2021.
