The McGuigan Murders

Sins of the father.

In August 2014, near Montague, Prince Edward Island, Alfred Guy Vuozzo, haunted for decades by the 1970 death of his nine‑year‑old sister—whose fatal collision was caused by a driver later sentenced to just nine months—executed a cold‑blooded act of vengeance. He entered the home of the McGuigan family and shot and killed Brent McGuigan, 68, and his son Brendon McGuigan, 39, both of whom had no direct involvement in the original accident other than being related to the driver. Vuozzo pleaded guilty to first‑degree murder (Brent) and second‑degree murder (Brendon) and received a life sentence with no possibility of parole for 35 years.
